Sheriff Margaret Mims Addresses Gun Control

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno County's top law enforcer says she's standing with sheriff's across the country- many of whom are coming forward, saying they won't enforce federal gun laws. This comes on the heels of President Obama's new gun violence prevention proposal. 23 executive orders are aimed at gun control.

The constitution says you can defend yourself and that is the way a lot of us down south hunt to eat. We did build this land with guns, but now they are people who want to take that freedom away from us.

Jane, its a Constitutional Right to be able to defend ourselves, our family and our property. Those that choose not to defend themselves with a weapon, have that choice. But, they have no right to take away our rights if we choose to exercise them. If you feel threatened, then do what you know you have to do, and have a right to do.

What is a private cizten going to do, when they don' feel safe where they live? That's the way I feel and I will keep my guns in a safe place for me. I have written to my Congressman and told him how I feel. Whether it gets anywhere I don't know, he's only one Republican among alot of Democrats. I speak out when I feel threatented, right now I feel really threatened.

ISRA Thursday Bulletin (Illinois State Rifle Association)
URGENT ALERT - ANOTHER BAD CARRY BILL IN THE WORKS
The ISRA has learned that the gun controllers in the Illinois Senate are drafting yet another "may issue" concealed carry bill that would let certain jurisdictions "opt out" of issuing concealed carry permits. As of now, the new proposal does not have a bill number. That means that the proposal could come out as an amendment to an existing bill, or be introduced as a stand alone bill, or be snuck into a "shell bill."
Be advised that, as a matter of policy, the ISRA remains steadfastly opposed to any "may issue" concealed carry proposals. The only form of concealed carry acceptable to the ISRA is "shall issue" with minimal restrictions. The ISRA will not waver from this position.
Here is what you need to do to ensure that "shall issue" concealed carry becomes law in Illinois:
1. IMMEDIATELY - Call your State Senator and politely tell the person on the phone that you are a law-abiding Illinois firearm owner and that you find "may issue" concealed carry to be unacceptable. Tell the person that you expect the Senator to vote against "may issue" concealed carry if any such bill comes to the floor of the Senate. 2. Pass this alert on to your family and friends and ask them to make calls as well.
3. Post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin boards and blogs to which you belong.
It's important to keep the pressure on...do not let the gun grabbers hijack concealed carry!

Unfortunately, YOUR U.S. Senator, Mark Kirk, revealed his true colors by REPEATEDLY VOTING FOR anti-gun legislation and AGAINST your Second Amendment rights.
In fact, Senator Kirk voted in lock-step with your other gun-grabbing U.S. Senator, Dick Durbin, for the Draconian Assault Weapons Ban and the standard capacity Magazine ban.
He was the ONLY "Republican" to do so.
